The people behind the films

Two crafts, one purpose.

Furnace Legacy Films brings together several decades of broadcast-quality production experience and formal counsellor training - so every story is filmed beautifully, and told with genuine care.

Kim Weber

Kim is an Executive Producer with several decades of production experience and formal counsellor training - a combination that sits at the heart of Furnace Legacy Films. She co-founded Furnace with Paul Swain and now leads the Legacy Films division.

Kim guides every family through the process personally - from the first conversation to the final film. Her counselling background means the interview is gentle, unhurried and emotionally safe: questions are asked with care, and no moment is ever pushed.

For Kim, this work is about more than film. It is about making sure no story is lost - and that the people who matter most are heard, in their own words, for generations to come.

Paul Swain ACS

Paul is an award-winning and accredited cinematographer with the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) with several decades of experience across television commercials, documentaries and corporate film production. As co-founder of Furnace, he has spent his career delivering broadcast-quality work for some of Australia's best-known brands and organisations.

On a legacy film, Paul brings that same craft - cinematic lighting, broadcast-grade camera work and sound - into living rooms, hospital rooms and family gardens. The result is a film that looks and feels like television, while remaining deeply personal.

Paul believes that everyone's story deserves to be told at the standard of the stories we see on screen - and that quality of image is part of the dignity of the telling.
